Liz & Libby

I have this need for my friends to know each other. You are all such marvelous people that I dream of gathering everyone I love in one room and introducing them. Hmm, I guess that’s what heaven will be like.

This is Liz:

and this is still further proof that bad things happen to the BEST people.

My adorable friend Liz, broke her leg in 3 places (12 weeks in a cast!) during the Primary Program rehearsal. We Mormon girls all JUST KNEW those rehearsals were hazardous; Liz has confirmed it.

In truth, this leg has been the least of Liz’s trials in the past year, but no matter what is happening on her own life, Liz always, always has a ready smile, a hug and a word of compassion for everyone who passes her way.

Liz is the sort of friend that senses you are having a bad day from across the room or across the neighborhood. She’ll make her way to you, say the perfect thing, deliver the perfect note, send the perfect flower and inevitably make you cry. She’s probably inspired enough tears to fill the Great Salt Lake.

Here’s her secret: Liz sees the best in you. She looks past every flaw, every preconceived notion and sees the bright and shiny, very best you that you ever hope to be. And then she inspires you to BE that person.

She is the essence of true Christian love– and really I can’t think of a better skill to cultivate.

A mother heart like Liz’s could have handled 12 kids but after 2 fabulous sons early in her marriage she just waited,

and waited,

and waited,

and 12 years later sweet Libby came along. She’s almost 13, the last child at home and turning out very much like her mother.

So who votes that Liz gets to have an easy year next year? Nothing but sunshine and roses and maybe a grandchild?

It doesn’t matter: Liz will be smiling no matter what comes her way.

Liz was one of the first people I met when I moved to Utah 8 years ago. We met at Holladay Preschool. She took me and my little ones under her wing and made us feel valued and loved. You most definitely have my vote for nothing but the best for this sweet, dear sister. The pics of Libby are gorgeous. I’m sure they had Liz beaming!

I am so happy that I’ve had the pleasure to meet Liz (oh, so briefly, but I did meet her!)

She has such beautiful and kind eyes, just like her daughter.
