boys, boys, boys

There’s nothing showy or loud about my friends Bruce and Zalia, they are simply GOOD to the very core. As exclusive members of the oh-so-elite Parents of Five Boys club they are changing the world from the inside out. Are you worried about ‘kids today’? Look into these kind, witty, intelligent, thoughtful little faces and feel confident about the future.

Bruce and Zaila’s 2nd son, Britton, has been living in heaven for almost 9 years now. But every time we get together we wonder how his presence would change the family dynamic and we ponder the weight and space that his absence fills. Of all her children, Britton bore the strongest resemblance to Zaila with his brush of dark hair and chocolate eyes. Would his hair have turned up in curls or grown straight with stubborn cowlicks? Would he fight with his brothers? Would he love Star Wars and Legos (surely!)?

I would never wish the death of a child upon anyone. I never want to see that again. But I can’t help but admire the way Bruce and Zaila have taken the blackness and created a family filled with compassion.

What a beautiful family. I clicked back and read the story and now am sobbing at work, that is something no mother should have to endure. Great photos, thank you for sharing!

So this is the famous Zalia and family. What a treat to finally see them and look into their eyes. Simply beautiful. You captured their “light”. I’d love to meet them in real life someday. I have some little boys that would love to play.

What a blessing to know that death really isn’t the end.

They’re lovely. I love those blue eyes and Zalia has a fantastic smile. She’s like an even prettier Pam Dawber.
