Everyone knows that Monday morning is the time get in gear, put your shoulder to wheel, nose to the grindstone and in my case clean up the house from a week of parties and answer 200 emails. Mary is busy spinning cartwheels across the family room and my work is ready and waiting.
But I’m soooooo distracted.
Syren is calling to me with it’s mesmerizing words. Have you read the Septimus Heap series? You should. My boys adore them and I have fallen under their spell. I’m on the last book– oh, I can’t even let myself pick it up today.
The last episode of Masterpiece Theater’s Emma is playing on my computer while I clean the kitchen, and yes, I am stopping every few moments to relish the light, to replay that last clever phrase. Have you been watching it? It’s marvelous. Even my boys have been bewitched by Emma.
I ate my last Honeycrisp apple after taking this photo. Have you tried them? AMAZING. Erik bought them as a special treat (’cause they’re expensive) and I fell in love at the very first crisp juicy sweet bite.
It seemed like an innocent birthday present, but our entire family is entranced by Perplexus. A small ball must be navigated through 100 twisting turning barriers. We can’t get enough of it. Gabe smuggled it into Stake Conference yesterday and Erik said, “Let him keep it, it will help me– I mean Gabe– concentrate on the talks.”
If you have human beings in your house, you need this toy.
And so, as you can see, I’m trying to share my distractions with all of you so that I can get back to work.
But first I’ve got to solve that puzzleball.
It will only take me a minute.
