spring break

  • Apr 4, 2012

Never before do I recall our neighborhood emptying so completely during a school holiday. It’s like a ghost town as we wander the sidewalks and playgrounds depleted of children (and adults). We’ve tried to be a good neighborhood watch: questioning the guys with the white van parked next door, listening for blaring alarms and NOT giving the garage code to stranger who “just forgot the number.”

Crime beat aside, we’re happy to be home enjoying glorious weather, lazy mornings and a stack of new books. Darling slacker Stefan spends his hours finishing Health, Fitness for Life, Financial Literacy and all the lovely classes he couldn’t find room for in his schedule. Happily, he’s actually enjoying the classes– such a nice break from AP Physics.

We’re marking Holy Week in simple but meaningful ways (Catherine has wonderful ideas) and we’ve lined up several creative projects: glitter eggs, silk dyeing and movies, movies, movies.

Undeniably silly, our first production serves as a warm-up, look for the movie with fabulous scenes and special effect in the next few days…

You (this) was our family entertainment tonight. We watched five out of nine of your videos and the girls had a good giggle over the sippy cups. You have some real actors/actress in your midst. Glad you got some extra sleep this morning. Seems everyone is enjoying the break. Thanks for your sweet text. If there is any love, it’s me for your family. Your children are celebs at our house! xo
