Between January 15 and February 14, our calendar is basically a festival. Gabriel, Mary, Wells, Erik, me, Xander, Anna, and Ben all have birthdays, plus our anniversary, plus Stefan and Heather’s. We eat nothing but cake for a month.
This year, the Sunday tucked between my birthday and Xander’s and Anna’s and Ben’s just happened to be Super Bowl Sunday. We are not Super Bowl people. But we are very much red and white ravioli and-heart-shaped-breadsticks people. So we added hot wings and jalapeño bites to the pink plates, turned on the game while we cut out valentines, and let football mingle with frosting.

Ben got piles of books for his birthday. Mostly bibles.

These two love watching football together.

Sammie made this heart for me, and I’m completely obsessed. Isn’t it gorgeous?

It’s a Valentine Birthday Super Bowl Party ❤️🎂🏈🥳
How do we keep traditions alive? We let them stretch. We let them change shape without losing heart.
There is, after all, plenty of love to go around.

Absolutely beautiful and magical! All that love! So much goodness. ❤️
And Sammie is such an incredible artist. That heart is an absolute treasure.
The babies together. Oh my heart. Friends forever. After we had our twins at the end of our family, I decided that it really would be ideal for every baby to arrive in a pair.
Happy belated birthday, my dear friend!! Xox
