I’ll admit. I could have gone for a late Easter this year. I wanted one more week (or three) to color eggs, search for chocolate carrots at every grocery store and actually read the Holy Week verses (so many good intentions). But we gathered the essentials right on time for Easter Sunday:
Tulips, Reese’s Eggs, Lindt chocolate bunnies….
Who am I kidding? It’s all about the baby and his amazing bunny shoes.

We didn’t actually let him eat any chocolate (or crepes with Nutella and strawberries). Instead, we set a three-minute timer so everyone could get a turn holding adorable baby Fritzie.

Conference and Easter create an especially glorious combination. Sure, we don’t actually go to church, but we do listen to talks about Jesus for 8 hours over the weekend.

A newly vaccinated Hansie got to hold Fritzie maskless for the first time this year.

Admittedly, we didn’t watch General Conference quite as well with baby Fritzie around– he’s just too cute and distracting. And we kept the Legos in their bins because, choking hazard! Still, it was an amazing conference and even though I need to rewatch Saturday afternoon (because I slept through 75% of it) I still have a list of favorites:
Room in the Inn by Elder Gerrit W. Gong
Ye Shall Be Free by Elder Thierry K. Mutombo
Defending Our Divinely Inspired Constitution by President Dallin H. Oaks
and I unexpectedly burst into tears when Pres. Nelson announced twenty new temples (and encouraged members to get vaccinated so temples can reopen).
I think I’m keeping the Easter decor up until June. That should give me just enough time to savor the rest of conference, admire Fritzie’s bunny shoes and sneak a few more Cadbury eggs.
Happy Easter! Happy Conference! xoxo

I totally agree with you on needing more time to enjoy the Easter season. Conference was wonderful. It seems to come at just the right time for me every time. I love your adjustments to your usuals to make things safe for your cute grandson. Happy Easter!
And weird as it may be would you be willing to tell me where Erik got his amazing rooster/chicken shirt? I have a family member that would love that.

Isn’t it amazing? It’s from Uniqlo.
Thanks for your kind comment.
