backing up a bit

Oh my, I am behind, aren’t I?
Erik complained last night that I haven’t put up Easter photos or our trip to Zion’s National Park or Mary’s first haircut or ANYTHING to entertain him while he’s at work.
Hmm…. might be because my harddrive FAILED, was ERASED and had to be taken in twice just to come back clean and empty.
So here’s my soapbox of the day: BACK UP your files. Please! Do it for me, do it for your sanity, do it for your children and their valuable little school papers.
A few good places:

Carbonite.com (recommended by the brilliant Chelle-go check out her Easter photos!) just $50 a year and you are covered. Beautiful.

Amazon.com has about a jillion. Just do it.

Because trust me, trust me, you have more valuables on your computer than you think. And if you’re a photographer you probably have actions and templates and such that the nice people you bought them from are not going to just GIVE to you(except Tina Parker of mylilcreations-the brilliant artist who makes my card templates– she offered to resend me every file. Love her.).

Still, while it’s a pain reloading my iTunes and finding passwords and reinstalling all my software, I’m not feeling sorry for myself in the least. My photos were all saved, most of my writing exists in cyberspace(or needs to be trashed anyway) and a fresh start is always a good thing. Besides the kindness of Tina Parker (why yes, I am trying to promote her website), my neighbor is trying to recover my harddrive and my dad just happened to be in town and visiting for dinner when I had to take my computer in the second time. He saved the day in more ways than one. Thanks Dad.
And, and it’s impossible to be anything but joyful when Spring is emerging on every corner.
So, while I finish loading Photoshop and all that, I’ll leave you with this final thought:
Cookie magazine just suggested that rompers, yes, rompers are the fashion must-have for all mother’s this spring:

OK, I live in Utah. I know A LOT of beautiful moms. But I honestly can’t think of one(not even the gorgeous, couldn’t weigh 100 lbs. if she tried, Claudia) who should wear this in public.
Oy.

Oh man. I have nightmares about my computer crashing. So Santa brought me an external hard drive. I sleep much better at night knowing the thousands of images of my littles are stored safely away!!! Hope it all gets back up and running. I have been missing your posts. And really want to see what miss mary wore this easter too!! hehe

I am with you on that romper thing. And I had a computer crash too! It’s the worst…luckily my dad does that for a living and saved the day? Is he by chance the neighbor fixing it??? If not you should see what he can do…he got me EVERYTHING on it…oh man I was grateful!!!

“(not even the gorgeous, couldn’t weigh 100 lbs. if she tried, Claudia)” …and that’s soppin’ wet!

hey, your Tina Parker link didn’t work…so maybe fix that if you’d like to promote her.

What a nightmare. Rompers are more annoying than bathing suits for using the bathroom. that’s why they should be limited to tykes in diapers with snaps around the crotch/legs. So annoying!

I’ll be awol next week 🙁 miss ya!

I would totally pee myself wearing that – I could never make it in time unless these new ladies rompers do come with snaps at the crotch.

Oh I do feel your pain! I was right there with you a month ago, and sadly the only action I didn’t have backed up was my Leah Pro Mia Bella actions 🙁

Hardy har, har you! That goes for you too Blue!

I actually wore a red romper just like that on my 17th birthday. I walked out of the house with my mom saying, “Are you sure you wanna wear that?”
Little did I know that there was a surprise party waiting for me when I got home. Twist my arm and I might show you pictures sometime 😉

I’m glad your papa was around to save the day.

Hope to see you this weekend!

    love,c

I made one of those in my sewing class in 8th grade.

Coincidentally, boys started to pay attention to me the year I grew out of it. Perhaps I should make my daughters were rompers until they turn 21.

My nieces who are 3 & 4 looked adorable in their rompers…THEY are the only ones who rompers should EVEN be made for…SAD world.

You were in Zion’s? And we missed Mary’s haircut? I think you should backtrack…with or without pictures.

I really want a Mac…can’t wait to hear the details!
