In one letter to Ben, Xander claimed that I put a shock collar around his neck and turned up the voltage whenever he stopped writing. Not true, but if I could find something like that I might put it to use…
The other day, Xander was home sick from school and I had ALL DAY to prod him to write to Ben. No one makes being sick look as good as Xander– comfy cushions, a movie on Netflix, Nutella sandwiches, and the cat– but his poem doesn’t exactly reflect that.
Boring, boring I lay all day
As I blow my nose in utter dismay.
T.V. and books are both fun
until every chapter and episode are done.
All the coughing, moaning,
sneezing and groaning.
With nothing to do
I sit and stew.
I hope your day was better than mine.
Hmm, I’m not feeling all that bad for him, how ’bout you?
Cath
A day like that (despite the coughing, sneezing) sounds divine!! Love the Nutella jar on the quilt.

My mother never fed me Nutella when I was home from school with a cold… Xander knows how to do a sick day for sure!
Today's Gift
Two jars of Nutella? No, I don’t feel bad for him at all!
Selwyn
I have tissues, alas no nutella.
The boys have promised me poetry for tomorrow.
Hope Xander feels better soon!
Tracy
Ha! Man-sick already. They start so young. xo
