  • April 22, 2026 ❤️ Mary + Zachary

    May 16, 2026

On Mary and Zach’s first date (a hike up Millcreek Canyon), one or the other of them (they genuinely can’t remember who) said, “I don’t really like big weddings. I’d rather just get married on a Wednesday with only a few people around.”

And that is exactly what they did.

It was a simple, lovely Wednesday wedding with just family at the Draper Temple.

Both Zach and Mary are practical people who do not enjoy being the center of attention, so everything was kept as simple as possible. When Mary’s new sister-in-law Mady (professional baker and generally useful person to have in a family) asked what kind of cake they wanted, they replied, “Whatever is easiest.”

When asked what flowers she wanted, Mary said, “We’ll just buy whatever Trader Joe’s has that week.” These were expertly arranged by our Madi, with Heather and Sammie serving as floral support staff. (This required two different Madis, because one is not enough.)

We took photos in the backyard and ate Cafe Rio around the kitchen table, which felt exactly right.

One of my favorite moments was the dinner toasts from parents and siblings. Every one of Mary’s brothers and sisters-in-law had something thoughtful and lovely to say, and I found myself feeling ridiculously proud of all of them. I really wish I had recorded those.

Stefan gathered video clips from all the siblings and created the happiest little wedding video. And yes, there is significantly more footage of brothers and babies than of Mary and Zach.

Which is exactly how they would have wanted it.

Congratulations, Mary and Zach! We love you dearly and wish you a lifetime of joy, laughter, and happy Wednesdays.
