Saturday 10:34 — Hamburg~~ It’s Saturday morning, we’re standing at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof waiting for a train to BERLIN baby. That’s right, we’re heading to the city that never sleeps, the city of the bear, and not just for Spaß. We’re going to see Elder Uchtdorf! And by we, I mean approximately the entire Hamburg zone is standing on this platform. And there are approximately zero seats on this train. So we knew we were gonna have to be fast in order to not stand in a train for 2 hours.
Saturday 12:15–Berlin~~ We pull up in Berlin and the Hamburg boys decided that instead of traveling in a giant mob of missionaries we should split off into our own little group. As the train stopped, we ran.
☆☆Sat. 1230–Brandenburger Tor☆☆ This is the cool part, so pay attention! We come out of the Ubahn at Brandenberger Tor which is definitely one of the best designed stations in the world. You come up the stairs, look up and there is the beautiful center of Berlin. I walked out and just stood there appreciating this amazing monument for a moment as the rest of our group turned to go to the bus. It was a good thing that I waited, cause that’s when I saw him. White hair, blue suit, looks like a ray of sunshine. The man himself, Uchtdorf, with Harriet and security and photographers. I kind of just stood there dumbfounded, and then my man Dieter noticed me and came and dapped me up.

They’re sooooo nice.

It was such a surreal experience to stand with “the german apostle” in one of the most iconic spots in Germany. We all shook hands and laughed, and just had a jolly five minutes together. The photographer was eating. that. up. If you go check church news you’ll see me just hanging out. Sooo cool. And to think it all started with just trying to not be in a big group. Crazy times man.
Anyway the rest of the day was pretty awesome too! We had a meeting with the entire mission. Which was madness but fun. I’ve come to the point in my mission where I know basically nobody, but not because I haven’t been here very long, because they just arrived. Every other person i talk to is a trainee or just new in some way. It was a great time though. I guess it’s time for me to come home!
Hope you all have a wonderful week and don’t forget to pray!
