General Conference– April

Oh we dove into the pre-General Conference rumors. All of them.

Would coffee be removed from the prohibition list?

Would the prophet reveal significant changes to missions? Length? Service or proselyting?

Would we hear about new temples? Details about the Salt Lake Temple renovation?

Changes in policies about civil and temple marriages?

Would the apostles expand on their recent announcement that children of gay couples may be baptized and gay marriage would not be treated as apostasy?

Yes, there were announcements of new temples and they made an announcement about when they would announce plans for the Salt Lake Temple renovation, but conference was NOT a time of jaw-dropping changes like the past two. And from what I understand, that was by design. Announcements will run through the newsroom and General Conference will be reserved for testifying of Christ and teaching truths.

And that’s a very good thing.

Yes, Gabe now has a smart phone. And yes, he was on it all during conference.

Taking notes.

Speaking as a coffee addict, you’re probably better off not starting to drink it. 🙂

I was in the hospital for pneumonia and severe anemia in February (which earned me a blood transfusion, a bunch of unpleasant ultrasounds, a CT scan, and bloodwork for everything under the sun and then a few more things), and I forewent my yuppified Starbucks coffee drink for 3 1/2 days. I’m pretty sure that caffeine withdrawal was part of the horrific headache I had the whole time.
