Oh, life is too busy right now! I had scripture group here this morning and had to teach as well as get the house clean, practice with Xander, get everyone off to school, make lunches etc. Cute Gabriel and Mary decided to help me clean up. It was the sweetest thing. They ran around and really helped a lot. The lesson was Revelations 1-18(no easy task) and went amazingly well considering how ill prepared I was.
Today is the 16th birthday of the girl Ben likes. I told him a while back that every girl dreams of receiving 16 pink roses on her 16th birthday. Both Ben and Erik thought I was silly but Ben decided to believe me and anonymously delivered 16 roses to her doorstep last night. Ben said that all day at school all the girls told him how brilliant and thoughtful he is. Hmmm, maybe mom does know something. 🙂
A wedding invitation came in the mail for a girl named Abby. “Oh,” Gabriel exclaimed. “Abby is in my class at school. I didn’t know she was getting married.”
“No it’s a different girl named Abby.” I told him. ” A girl has to be quite a bit older to get married.”
“Ben’s age?”
“Older.”
“Spiderman’s age?”
“Yes, Spiderman age is the perfect age to get married.” Take note of that folks.
We finally made gingerbread cookies today. Xander has been anxious about making them since December 1st. We used a Martha Stewart recipe that made rock textured cookies, threw them all away and then went for the butter-packed Mrs. Field’s recipe. Yum! This recipe is from an old MF cookbook with most of it’s pages falling out. It has pictures of every recipe and the kids love to look through the book and dream.
Yummy but not the most beautiful Gingerbread Cookies

1/2 cup molasses
Buttery frosting– but I never use a recipe
1/2 cup butter
vanilla
hot milk
powdered sugar
A few pretties of Mary. I used my camera in RAW for the first time and I just love it! You can see by the 3rd picture how much Mary enjoys being my little model. 🙂

The pictures are so beautiful Michelle! I have been reading up on the RAW setting as well and have taken a few pictures that are fabulous. Again thank you so much for such a neat gift(loan:) to us and our family. Although my girls might think I am crazy with all the pictures I have been taking. I Love it though. Kev
