Guys & Dolls

It begins, as these things always do, with Mary shrieking from upstairs–“The boys are destroying my room!”

Her cries seem urgent enough (and I’ve spent enough time cleaning the darn place) that I skip up the stairs and into pink paradise.

Everything from Mary’s toy fridge is scattered across the floor and the boys are in the corner waging war on the dollhouse. “I don’t know what happened,” Xander motioned toward the fridge, “I just walked past it and everything flew out at me.”

Turns out they had booby-trapped the shelves to empty their contents when the door was opened. Scowling and baby-cursing, Mary settled herself into the empty space and found that she liked it there.

The siege on the dollhouse continued– oblivious to my camera clicking in the background they laughed and called orders. Even the cat was intrigued.

And really, it looks like general merriment until you zoom in for a close-up.

Playmobil people armed with knives and forks defend the manor.

Looming through the back window is a giant evil baby.

Is this too graphic for a family blog?

Resigning herself to the chaos (and somewhat grateful for a captive audience), Mary prepares a tea party for the invaders complete with chocolate milk in tiny teacups.

The battle continues at the table– and while the boys insist that they are only interested in the violent elements– you’ve got to admit, dolls and tea parties are pretty fun.

How funny! The giant evil baby reminds me of Toy Story 3. What great memories your children will have when they are older.

Couldn’t Love this post more! My son Alex used to play “barbies” with younger sister, Ashley. His dinosaurs would of course chase and eat them.

Wow, they must really miss Ben. Poor Kirsten the evil AG doll. She is too precious to attack a castle like that. And she lives in nice, friendly Minnesota.

Priceless! Looks a bit like my house today. I moved a new piece of furniture into the family room, and Ella and Annie promptly emptied it, moved in blankets, and hid inside a la Mary.
