Honesty

As Erik leaned down to kiss Mary goodbye this morning he said, “Mommy’s still not feeling very good so please don’t make any big messes.”

“Oh,” Mary replied, carelessly waving a hand toward the basement, “I already did.”

I just chanced on your blog of of mormon mommy blogs and this made me laugh out loud. Only now I want to cry because I have scrolled down further and am so jealous that I don’t have the ability to catch these amazing moments you can catch with your photos!! I want my kids all caught up so perfectly in a photo! Amazing.

yeah, I tried to include more of the mess in the scene, but then you couldn’t see that innocent face. Still, I’m thrilled that someone is still playing with all the Brio Mec that I splurged on 15 years ago.

I have a little mess maker of my own. He climbed the built-ins in the toy room yesterday just so he could pull all that stuff off the shelf too. You just gotta love ’em.

I’m sure Mary was thinking, “That’s my job, right? Making messes. What else am I supposed to do?” That’s what I think Elle’s mind repeats over and over every day 🙂
