I highly recommend…

having a kindergartner and a high school senior at the same time.

Sweethearts Dance 2010

It makes everything more fun.

But there are some misadventures.

Tonight, I had a tennis meeting with Stefan and asked Ben to take Mary to gymnastics. It was only her second lesson and last week was a free trial, so I sent Ben with my credit card to pay the semester tuition.

I came home from my meeting to find Ben and Mary skipping through the front door. “Why aren’t you at gymnastics?” I asked.

“Oh,” Ben got very serious, “I went to pay, and do you know how much they wanted?” He paused for dramatic effect, “One hundred and fifty dollars! Can you believe it? I brought her straight home.”

He waited for me to burst into applause.

I didn’t.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, Ben and Stefan act like children of the depression. They won’t/can’t /don’t spend money. And that serves them well most of the time. But this was my money! I’m perfectly aware of how much a semester of gymnastics costs.

Still, it’s nice to know that Ben is watching my credit card limit.

Someone should be.

I cannot stop laughing at this!

I just read it out loud to my husband he said, “Good for Ben!”

Yikes, apparently someone is watching our credit card limit.

    And it isn’t me.

Oh my gosh~ too funny! Obviously, you’ve raised your children well. Now, get that girl back into gymnastics where she belongs! ;o) I saw the cartwheels in the previous post.

That is hysterical. Cracks me up. Except that’s how I felt the first time I signed Sophie up for gym. “HOW much???” Gulp. Hand over card. Gulp.

Is she going to GTC? That was where my girls did gym.

I’m laughing because Morgan would do the exact same thing. He is so frugal. And I can’t believe this, but when Morgan is a senior, Ella won’t even be old enough for kindergarten!

I will have to wait until I’m well into my 40’s to birth a child that would be 5 when Norah is a senior…but I’ll consider it.

    I need a Ben.
