with my husband, my kids, my friends, the whole wide beautiful Christmasy world and my new camera.
“Finally, ” Ben said, “finally.”
“Yep. I’ve been dreaming of this little beauty since April.” I replied.
“That’s all? It seems MUUUUUUUUUUCH longer than that.”
Hmm, maybe I have talked about it a bit too much (incessantly). But it’s here. And it’s loverly. So much easier to get perfect exposure and focus. I’m still figuring out all the little intricacies but I can tell we are going to get along just fine.
The first shots out of the box:
it’s the Canon 5D Mark II
I bought the kit but sold the 24-105 lens on craigslist w/in a few hours(needed the $$ more than the lens).
Um, you can’t open RAW files w/o upgrading to Photoshop CS4– 2 hours and $200 that didn’t make my hubby very happy this close to Christmas. So I’m absorbing a new camera and a new version of PS at the same time– it’s a steep learning curve.
And CS4 needs a new RAW 5.2 plug in– another download but at least it’s free.
The camera is dreamy but the custom white balance is weird. Working on that…
The snow shots are SOOC crops– I didn’t use a vignette– the edges are just dark because of the full frame.
Here’s where this little beauty shines: 800 ISO and gorgeous.
Mary brought a lolly for the man in red. She asked for “a soft teddy and a few things in my stocking.”
And now I’m going to be a good girl and get ready for that little holiday coming up in 3 days.
