‘Joseph’ and Mary and Elvis

I’m not sure if you can fully appreciate a high school play unless you attend the dress rehearsal two days before opening night.

Not gonna lie– it was a bit of a mess. Several scenes were rough, some of the songs still didn’t have choreography, several costumes were missing, no one had plans for hair and makeup…

Yet we had a cast of incredibly talented kids, an amazing choreographer, a miracle-worker costume designer and dozens of parents who  pulled it all together.

And it was amazing.

Gabe was a reluctant Pharoah (yet incredible onstage) and Mary loved every minute as a wife/Egyptian girl/slave/chorus girl. If you’ve seen ‘Joseph’, you know that Pharoah doesn’t appear until the second half, so Gabe was able to play his viola and make grilled cheese sandwiches with his orchestra friends in the pit.

So maybe, just maybe we’ve fallen in love with musicals again. Except for Gabe. He didn’t enjoy it one bit. 😉

Your kids look radiant! I totally love their smiles. Hurrah for all the work and time they put into the production! (all the more impressive when Gabe was not feeling super jazzed about it all)

I am just SO glad that you got your websites back and running! You are doing amazing work, my friend. Your words and ideas uplift and strengthen. xoxo
