Today is Father’s Day and it’s been a fantastic day. Gabriel was the first child awake and so very excited to present Erik with his Superdad balloon. We fed him a chocolate covered creampuff and orange juice in bed and Gabriel ran outside to fetch the Sunday comics. Soon, everyone was awake and showering Daddy with gifts of chocolate bars, cards new earbuds(from Ben) and a GPS running watch from me. It was a happy silly morning and we barely made it to church on time.

Xander’s little legs are sore today. He ran the Fill the Ark 5K yesterday in 29 minutes. He also ran it last year. He enjoyed it enough that he wants to train for another. Hans was annoyed that we didnt’ wake him up.

Gabriel got his cast on Wednesday. He chose red much to his BYU-fan brother’s chagrin. He has been happy and sweet all week. Gabriel has a lot of his own little Gabrielisms: yessee, noee, it’s “swish” never flush the toilet. He insists that 22 is pronounced two-ty-two and 33 is three-dy-three. I’ll add more when I think of them. He is devoted to his teddy bear “Baby Bear” and spends a lot of time feeding him a bottle, rocking him and tucking him in at night. I encourage all of this because I think it’s so cute but the brothers sometimes get impatient.

I need to go make hot fudge for our family party tonight…

All sounds so fun! I can’t believe that Gabe runs 5ks…I’ve only done one and in 41 min & 44 secs. I never trained though, so I guess I did pretty well all considered. But Gabe – how old is he? – that is great! Congrats on everything good going on.
