Katy & Clint

How to describe Katy? Smart, silly, incredibly witty, flawless fashion sense– she’s the sort of person everyone wants as a best friend. Just a year ago, Katy stepped off the plane from her mission in Paris, France. A whole slew of boys lined up to date her and Clint is the one who captured her heart. After getting to know Clint, I think he’s equally wonderful– and that’s high praise.

Orchard photos are all the rage these days, but this is Clint’s literal back yard; the apple boxes bear his family name. He knows how to drive the tractor and when to harvest. They left a row of unpicked apples just for this shoot and we took advantage. Oh we had fun! You won’t see a serious photo in this entire set; these two can’t stop smiling when they look at each other.

Katy’s gorgeous sisters, Mary and Abby. I love these two. Abby is a junior in high school, a fabulous violinist, clever and silly (I value silly). Mary is like Mary Poppins– practically perfect in every way. Not only is she nice enough to write Ben every week, she fills me in on stories and little tidbits that don’t make it into the family letter.

I’ve said I believe I can predict the happiness of a future marriage by the engagement photos– the way they speak to each other, their movements and actions. The way they look at each other when the camera isn’t focused on them. And for these two? I see a lifetime of joy. More photos here.

I don’t care what happens, I MUST be photographed in a huge pile of apples before I die.

These are perhaps some of my favorite engagement photos ever. I love how “real” they appear to be in the orchard. Also…the sisters ARE beautiful!
