Is there anything better than a birthday party for a one-year-old? Maybe when the baby actually enjoys all the festivities! And my, did Lars enjoy his party!
Years ago, I remember one of my friends saying, “A first birthday is so important– parents go through a lot that first year and they need to celebrate making it to the other side!”
During the weeks while Sammie and Ben were preparing Larsie’s party, they said over and over, “We know it’s not for him, but we need a party!”
Larsie’s birthday fell on April 4th during one of the wettest springs, following the snowiest winter in memory. So we all needed a party.
Sammie is full of genius party ideas, but I think her best (and most doable– most of us can’t paint Dala horse cookies) is the balloon kit she bought from Amazon. Just $12 decorated the whole house. And then we added disco balls…..
