We almost didn’t make it to the party.

Mary almost forgot to dress up.

I almost forgot my camera.

But I’m so glad I didn’t.

Fog rolled over the valley that evening creating a mystical, magical mood…

Sweet Elle’s birthday was the occasion. Her parents set the standard for 3rd birthdays pretty high with Ryn’s “Snowball” ; and little Elle has been chattering ever since about her own day. And oh! can Elle chatter. I’ve never met a such a tiny girl with such an enormous personality.

A few party planning tips from Kit & Kevin:

1. talk until the middle of the night for weeks dreaming up magical details.

2. keep the guest list small so everyone gets plenty of attention

3. insist on proper apparel

4. have a mother who designed and manages an incredible, dreamlike greenhouse for the party location (OK, that one might be hard for the rest of us)

5. love your children so brilliantly, so beautifully that it shines through in every action.

Even Ben wore wings (as did Erik and Xander and Hans etc); everyone at a fairy party needs the ability to fly.

What? The boys didn’t dress as fairies? They are no fun at all.

Oh my gosh, that is so precious! I wish I could of gone! And I love that your boys are not too cool to go to a little girl’s fairy party and wear wings. That says a lot about them.

Beautiful! I would have loved to have a party like this when I was little. Your daughter’s outfit is too cute. It’s also great that your sons were willing to dress in wings. 🙂

Michelle- You have done it once again!!!! The night was magical and memorable for me as the Daddy of little Ms. Elle but you have brought that all back to life for me again. I joked about Kit seeing these and getting all teary eyed, but in all honesty after you and Erik left I looked at them again and felt my eyes water up because of how truly blessed I am to have such a wonderful wife, beautiful sweet babies and amazingly sweet and talented friends! Thank you, thank you a million times, I adore these!!!!
