“It was strange,” Xander mused, “when my teacher announced ‘Dress Like a Nerd Day’ everyone turned around and looked at me.”
We roll our eyes a bit at the shenanigans of Red Ribbon Week around here, but Xander takes nerdiness quite seriously. Freshly shined and showered he donned his carefully planned outfit, cinched up his belt and begged my help in slicking his hair into a neat middle part.
Inspired by his brilliance, Gabe and Mary donned their own silly, buttoned-down outfits, but somehow, despite her best mismatched efforts Mary couldn’t pull off the nerdy vibe.
Hey, we all have our talents.

Yep, he is definitely the nerdmeister.

He’s got the look!
Tell him that my high school mascot was the nerd. We had pep rallies for exams and the nerd carried around a 5 foot pencil. Good times!

It’s always Nerd Day at our house.

Mary cannot pull off the nerd look at all…she is way too darling and already stylish at such a young age. Xander’s hair & tie are perfect. Such fun pictures – thanks for sharing them with us.

Mary looks sassy and adorable, which, as you said, means she just can’t pull off nerdy.
Poor thing. I’ll light a candle for her.

mary was way too cute to be a nerd. I love her socks!

Mary could never be nerdy. Your boys are adorable. I love that they don’t mind posing for pictures. How, on God’s green earth, did you get them to be okay with photo shoots?? Very cool.
Cath
Totally agree. Mary just can’t pull that one off. Her argyle stockings are darling! But those boys – was there a contest? They definitely pulled it off!

Xander will have to try harder training Mary…they are just too cute!
