Mary and I have this conversation every day:
“Who is my favorite little girl in the whole wide world?!”
Raising her hand, “me, me!”
“And if I could line up a million little girls, which one would I choose?
That conversation gets me through the hard days.
And to each of my boys– if I could line up 10 million boys or even every boy in the whole world, you are the five I would choose. No doubt.
I thought this was a failed photo shoot and threw the whole file in my virtual garbage can. But when I went to empty the trash today I found some sweet ones. Just another reminder to me that everything(people, books, ideas, relationships) deserves a second look.
I guess it’s all relative, because how could you have thought it was failure with all those pics in the batch? Just goes to show that some people’s WORST work is far better than other of us’s best output.
That conversation is familiar. Do all moms have that one?
PS: I REALLY can’t believe how fast that cute LucyBellPirateKitty has grown! Either Mary shrank or LBPK is a lot bigger. ♥
I just love how happy and LOVED your kids always look. Must be credit to one great mom…
The third picture from the top does a good job of capturing the terror in Lucy the cat’s eyes. Poor cat.
seriously… sooo.. cute!
We are kindred spirits! We moms of many need to stick together!
Those are actually some of my favorites. I love the three bottom pics of Mary.
I love all the pics of Mary and LucyBellPirateKitty – Lucy for short – they are soooooo… cute! Well, really all of your pictures are fantastic. At least the ones I’ve seen that you put on this blog.
Wow all these pictures are great.. I love the ones of the Bensons. You are so funny and without trying I believe. You’re one of those way cool moms, right?? 😉
you so cute, why the heck would you throw these out! The one of M’s eyes are amazing, and LBPK is so cute! I am cracking up at Erik’s comment!
So sweet – you are an amazing mom. Your pictures are stunning..and your kitty is getting so big. 🙂
Oh my gosh. I’m completely smitten!

Michelle, Michelle, these pictures are great. Mary’s eyes are killer! You must have deleted your other post before I got a chance to comment on it, but I think the Segullah writing was well done, and it obviously struck a chord with the commenters. It is food for thought, no question. I’m with you in finding the “nancy” story intriguing.
Michelle- I, though not a Mommy, was faced with the question, could I possibly love another child as much as I loved Ryn? This question came to me right before Elle was born and quite frankly scared me to death. But from the moment I held Elle in my arms I knew that, YES, it was possible and that my love for each of them was boundless but yet also very unique to each of them. We are so blessed! Is there a greater gift that we could have than to be Mommies and Daddies!
p.s. I love the last pic of Mary. I love the way the texture and color of the grass sets her off. Awesome as usual!
