My mom called to wish Mary a belated Happy Birthday and asked if we’d received any packages. Hmm, no. I peeked out the window just in time to see the brown UPS truck pull away and spotted two packages on the front porch.
Mary ripped right into her box with my mom listening on the phone. It was one of those perfect moments as Mary giggled and squealed with delight over the new ballet outfit for her dolly. “Bitty Baby is going to love this! Thank you Grandma, thank you!”
She dressed Bitty up and then ran back upstairs and put her own ballet outfit on. Twirling and dancing around the room with her dolly, Mary was in heaven. I was too. It was one of those incredible little girl moments I’ve always dreamed of.
Gabriel came home a bit later and opened his box. Knights! Horses! Soldiers! We released them from their bindings and Gabe lay on the floor creating his own happy world.
Hans is feeling worse today but is still his usual pleasant self. He made the happy discovery that he could get peanut butter sandwiches down– which is a good thing. Yesterday he put his jeans on and they fell straight to the floor. Time to fatten that boy up!

Michelle, I love your blog. Your writing is straight from the heart and it touches mine wholly. The stories, the photos, they are wonderful.
And what a sweet day this looks – cute little Mary! I look forward to those girly days too! 🙂
