Revenge

Last week SOMEBODY put this cute little ad on craigslist linked to MY email and MY phone number:

BYU vs. Utah football game tickets and tailgate!

all SLC byu fans, reserve a spot at our bi-annual tailgate party before the big BLUE vs utah game, Saturday, Nov 22. come join us anytime after 12:00 noon. call for location and details, 277.2777 — four game tickets in drawing.

Thanks to free advertising, I’ve been fielding calls (including the crazy guy at 4 a.m.!) and emails all week long from rabid fans desperate for a party and dreaming of free tickets to the annual rivalry game where seats are going for $500+ each. And all week long we’ve been planning REVENGE.

Jane promised she would help. She’d call when Roger was away and we could pull our pranks.

But she turned on us. Not only did she leave us hanging by the phone but she alerted Roger (such wifely loyalties!) and he parked his truck across our driveway. We weren’t going anywhere last night unless we called a cab.

Wiping our tears, we crept into bed and dreamed of revenge in the morning. But we awoke to this:

Xander’s MAD!

Gabe simply couldn’t believe anyone would be so cruel.

I couldn’t help but admire the sheer artistry of the little twisted Us.

lots of red candy– such a waste

a helpful reminder that it’s our turn to clean the church today. So considerate.

and suggested apparel for the day– happily the perpetrators dropped the receipt for the tee and visor on the lawn. We returned them– and used the $$$ to buy supplies for REVENGE.
Ha ha ha! You are funding your own demise my friends.

Abandoning subtlety we set out in broad daylight to paint Roger’s windows, decorate his office, string blue lights across his porch, blast the Cougar fight song on repeat play and steal all his U of U shirts.

But he had a U shirt on. And Ben took care of that.

It’s OK, Rog, we left you a nice clean Cougar t-shirt hanging in your closet. Enjoy the game!

I probably shouldn’t admit that we went on a bit of a rampage after that, painting windows all over the neighborhood. The irony is that we haven’t watched a game all season and will have to visit our neighbors with cable TV if we want to catch a glimpse today.

Still, winning is the best revenge. GO BYU BLUE!

This to me was the best part of this post.

Except for the pics, of course!

Okay – that is hilarious!! I love that you have neighborly rivalry. I would have totally been on your side, btw.

Please burn the yearbook page with that awful reminder of my ‘incident’. Your comment gave me a good laugh for sure!

I was only at Hillcrest for my sophomore year and part of my junior year before I moved to Olympus. Funny that we went to school together. I think I have a memory of you (I think it was you that did this) running to seminary in the rain. You were late to class and the teacher asked why and you said “we were late because we had to build a boat to get across the parking lot”. Everyone laughed. I remember thinking you were hilarious!

Anyway – small world. I lurked around your blog for a long time before I realized that you and I went to the same high school.

Loved the photos of all our hard work! We had a blast with Roger and Lars! That was the funnest thing we have done at 4am. Thanks for leaving it up for all to see. If they didn’t know you, they would think that you are true Utes. Thanks for being good sports, but according to Roger you owe us dinner at the place of our choice! When do you want to go? Can’t wait until next year! Like Rachel said on Ben’s car Choose The Red!
    Love Ya!!
    GO UTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
