Call me naive, but I didn’t think my neighbors could possibly top last year’s assault on our BYU loving household. Besides, it was a week of snowstorms and wicked cold. I thought they would rather pull on their red fluffy slippers and sip cocoa rather than besiege our poor yard.
I was SO wrong.
This is the scene that greeted us after our twelve hour drive home last night. Even worse was the score: BYU 16– Utah 17.
Snowfall this morning covered much of their artwork, but you get the general idea. Oh! If only you could have seen the red cups lining the sidewalks and walkways, the dozens of red-dye Us emblazoned across the snow….
it’s impossible to be angry at a prank like this. I’m simply in awe of their artistry and evil genius.
Happily, we have ten months to plan our revenge. Any Cougar fans out there who might care to join us?
Melinda
We saw a sneak peek on our way up to Mom and Dad’s for Thanksgiving dinner. I had to tell Jesse the long standing rivalry between you and “he who must not be named”. Hee Hee, what fun you are going to have cleaning up.
Catherine
We were so robbed on that video replay…and after we had out-played them for 3 quarters.

Go Utes. Did you know that I’m now a lifetime member of the U of U Alumni? I like to carry the card just to annoy all the zealot BYU fans at church.
dalene
Oh. My. Gosh. The flier is killing me. We need to start plotting right now how to top that.
Chelle
I’ve been driving past your street and giggling to myself the last couple of days–knowing you were out of town and completely defenseless against the assault.
Brilliant! I could give whoever did this a big RED kiss! ; )
Lisa
What great “friends” you have…but seriously, what a well executed prank! You have to give them props for that.
Tifani
As soon as I saw the big red U in your post, I remembered last year. Can I just say I’m in total awe of your pranksters. Well played!
Cath
Genius. Truly. I am shaking my head in disbelief. (And we’re Ute fans!) But wow… that’s some serious work. I never realized you and Taylor Swift had so much in common! I might drive by just to see the grand scope of it all. Glad you’re home!
Blue
you seriously have the best neighbors EVER! this rivalry adds such a massive fun element to your lives! i love it. i live vicariously…wishing we had passion enough about anything to merit this kind of rivalry with someone. secretly, i know you must love this–and the revenge you’re now more than justified exacting. ♥
Selwyn
WOW. That is some impressive pranking!
Glad you’re back safe, sorry your team lost, and hope you’re warm!

OH. MY GOODNESS. I hope I didn’t just wake anyone in my house up with the laughter that just erupted out of my mouth.

I don’t know these people and I like them. A lot.
And not because I like the Utes, I actually cheer for BYU now, but seriously, that is some pretty amazing zeal!

Hey, it looks like your Christmas decorating is pretty much done – looks like much of it can be recycled…especially the sexy picture of you and what is sure to be your Holiday gown..;)
OMG I love your neighbors.
