Isn’t seven the luckiest number? The darling of gamblers and yet, revered by religious scholars as the number of perfection, of completion, “And God blessed the seventh day…”
It’s an exciting age. An age where people find who they really are.
And I feel lucky and blessed just to watch her this year.
Interestingly, she asked for only one gift: a Rapunzel doll with long braidable hair, and her birthday wish was– “that my hair would grow, of course.” (Mary has never needed a haircut; but I think her fluff is adorable.)
Everyone who meets Miss Mary asks, “So how is life with all those brothers?” By their tone you can catch the assumption that they either think it would be awful or wonderful. But her unfailing answer is– “I love them. They are nice to me.”
And nice they are. Though her moods can drive them crazy, they are patient and sweet with her. On her birthday she scarcely touched the floor all day as they twirled with her in the kitchen and carried her on their shoulders.
Five, six or seven– she’s always been the luckiest girl in the world.

Seven – a year to look forward to. She is beautiful Michelle. Seeing her with you, happily bouncing, her hand slipped in yours (right after your shoot) was delightful. xo
