Seventeen Years

Seventeen years ago, at 10:20 a.m., in the Salt Lake Temple, Erik and I got married. I distinctly remember feeling like I had gotten away with something.

I still do.

In case you don’t know the shocking truth, Erik and I went our our first date Oct. 23rd, knew were were getting married by Halloween and tied the knot in January. Looking back I am amazed at how bold and decisive we were.

I was crazy about Erik from day one. Besides being the best looking man I had ever(and have ever) seen, he was smart, funny, a fantastic athlete and extremely spiritual. What I didn’t and couldn’t have known then was what a wonderful father he would be, a builder, my therapist; that he would do laundry w/o being asked and make pancakes on Sunday mornings, that he would constantly be learning something new and teach it to me, that he would fill up the holes in my heart and make me laugh a hundred times a day.

Ah, my love, here’s to many many happy years ahead.
