As we finished taking photos, Emma sat with me as I scrolled through her images on my camera. She giggled and squealed with delight. “I love them!”
“It’s pretty simple,” I told her, “when you are a sweet girl with a kind heart it just shines right through the camera lens.”
“Ah,” she replied, “and the sweetness and kindness comes straight from my mom.”
That’s when her mom started to cry for the second time.

And this is where she first began to cry– looking at her freshly-turned-twelve girl full of poise and grace and beauty.

It’s easy to glimpse the beautiful woman she’s becoming; take your time, sweet Emma. Take your time.

Wonderful photos! And I love the story around them, too. Thanks for sharing it.

And now here I sit,
crying for the third time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. so much. What a gift you’ve given to us…capturing her so perfectly at age 12.
Can’t wait to hug and thank you in person.

The sweet, pure young women of our church are truly a force to be reckoned with. It is amazing to feel of their goodness and the Spirit of the Lord that they carry with them. They are going to do amazing things in the world!

Made me cry too (it’s that kind of day). Ah, to have a twelve-year-old daughter think I’m a good mom . . .
