sparklers, bombs, smoke and fire

At only 46 seconds and plenty of fire and explosions, this video is worth watching:

Happy Birthday Xander!

Every time I go to the grocery store, Xander pleads, “Can we get dry ice?”

And sometimes I do. Just for fun. But for his fourteenth birthday we decided to go all out with his favorite things: a diet coke and mentos volcano, giant sparklers and dry ice for experiments and bombs. We even borrowed Grandpa Fritz’s BB gun to shoot balloons.

If anyone was born to be a scientist,  it’s my Xander. He loves to assemble, experiment, take apart, create and study. Home with a cold the day before his birthday I gave him an old printer to dissemble. He spent the entire day oohing and aahing over the various motors, gears and sensors. For entertainment, he watches math nerd videos on YouTube. You’ll love this one: Hexaflexagons

Oh Xander we love your fantastically creative mind and your kind heart. Happy Birthday!

This might be interesting for Xander. Explain that he is not allowed to try it.
