Oh I know, the photos and the video glow with happiness– and for the most part our Thanksgiving weekend was joyful and funny and delicious– but it was also tense, emotional and exhausting. Some of us (who shall remain unnamed) used up all their good behavior at school and came into the weekend with jokes and barbs at the ready. And others, came off an extremely stressful pair of weeks and didn’t appreciate the humor.
So there were hurt feelings and tears and lots of talks and apologies and happily, miraculously, by Sunday night everyone loved each other again.
And I call that a success– there’s power in the ability to work through problems, to forgive, to know that ultimately this crazy bunch of people are the center of our world.
this is what happens when I say– “Oh you all look so cute doing the dishes together.”
