the day in pictures

Xander making orange muffins this morning.

And Gabriel was not happy about me cutting his hair this morning…

I have such plans for pictures of Princess Sofia but she was too sad to leave mama’s arms today and we ran out of time. I am quickly learning that photographing babies takes lots of time and has to be done on baby’s schedule. Oh, wait, doesn’t that apply to everything about babies?

Still I had fun with some blends…

Ben had a viola recital this afternoon. Here is his cute teacher looking a bit tense as she calls the pianist once again. The recital started 25 minutes late with an employee from the neighboring piano store playing the piano and the original pianist never did show up.

Smile Ben!

that’s better

This little guy was not enjoying the music.

But the cookies are OK.

Ben was the grand finale and had to play unaccompanied. Not a great photo– but check out that fabulous yellow piano!

A congratulatory kiss to the teacher from her hubby. I think I want to take more pictures of this cute couple.

Ben and I went to Costco then raced home so he could get ready for the dance tonight. It’s a ‘Whiteout” meaning that everyone has to wear all white. Ben had purchased a white polo and shorts at Thriftown earlier in the week. I was putting in a load of laundry for Mary this morning and Ben(who usually does his own laundry and for good reasons!) asked if I could throw his whites in with it. No problem– I even threw in a Shout color catcher to be safe.

I was putting away the groceries when Ben called down, “Mom! I can’t find my clothes. They aren’t in the washer.”

“Yes they are!” I ran upstairs to the washer and pulled out the clothes. Indeed, Ben’s clothes were there but were completely unrecognizable because they had been died a lovely, perfect shade of pink.

We laughed ourselves silly and then panicked. Ben was already late and his friends were calling every 2 minutes. We pulled a polo out of Erik’s closet and raced to Thriftown to find another lovely pair of shorts. Only $1.06– I got off easy!

Erik modeling the pretties.

They went with seven couples and came here after the dance for fondue and games. Ben has such an incredible group of friends; I just love them!

Michelle, One of the great things about your blog is that it is filled with so many everyday pictures that are so easily forgotten. Thanks, Ruth
