the golden hour

Here’s the challenge with Miss Analisa: show off her beauty but retain her 15 year old innocence. It’s not easy. Her mom and I rejected several photos because she looked too pretty. I know, I don’t expect that problem to garner a lot of sympathy for Analisa or me. 😉

These were taken back in May during the hour before sunset (that and the hour after sunrise are always the best time to shoot); I used my 50 mm lens between 1.8 and 2.2; 1/250 ss. Sorry for the boring info but I’m trying to be more helpful these days.

You should post a link to this over on Blog Segullah since we’re talking about hair. And this is some gorgeous hair! (and pictures. I know I always say that. I’m not being a butt-kisser. I really do think you’re that good.)

Holy @#$%^&!!! What have you done with my daughter???? Now I can’t keep her a secret! A shotgun is not enough. I’m going to have to hire protection but I can’t trust them either! You’ve ruined my life!

Don’t listen to him, he’s crazy.

And now for the true test… SHE LOVED THEM!

She jumped up and down as she looked over her Dad’s shoulder as he slumped further down in his chair.

She is radiant and the scene looks like we hand painted it to perfection. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You never cease to amaze!

Amazing! Thanks for the technical info. I love that stuff. I frequently drool over your photography skills and am always interested in the details! If I may ask a question, are you spot metering off her skin to get perfect exposure?

These are STUNNING! Seriously stunning. You have some awesome locations hiding up your sleeve. If it’s not one of those I-can-tell-you-but-then-I’d-have-to-kill-you things then I would love to know. Especially that really cool urban location you did a few posts back.
