the wedding

Codye and Matt are such a gracious, kind and madly-in-love couple that I didn’t want their photos to look like they were the first wedding I’ve every photographed(which they are). I stressed and worried and pored over wedding photography for months in preparation. And I won’t lie; it was tough. Noonday sun that cast shadows on faces and turned the dress into a shining white blob, crowded Temple Square, wind whipping hair and clothes into into twisted knots, people running in and out of every photo… I was sweating and shaking, praying that I wouldn’t ruin every single photo (‘cause you can’t exactly do a repeat on weddings: “I didn’t get that family group shot. Can everyone fly back into town, rent tuxes and meet at the Salt Lake Temple?”)

But we did OK. And well, maybe I have a LOT of photos to show you. 😉

The Joseph Smith Memorial Building is pure, classic elegance. So beautiful in color but stunning in black and white.

Great job Michelle! I like the JSB much better in black and white. Looks like you could be in Europe.

too many to praise individually. maybe if they were numbered, but land sakes michelle…these are incredible. you could probably make any two people look like romeo and juliette. do you have some kind of pixie dust you sprinkle in the air or something? makes me want my own shoot. you could probably even make the doc and i look grand. and i can’t believe you fit in all this with everything else you have going on in your life. you’re remarkable.
i’m sure bunch will love the minibrenda bride too. 😉

Oh, you done good, kid. I think I’d like a re-do of my wedding and you can be the photog. Only somehow you’ll have to photoshop me to look as young, thin, and gorgeous as that bride.

    Lenses used, my expert friend?

Well done Michelle! No one would ever believe this was your “first wedding”. Please send me a jpeg of them in front of the Temple with the reflecting pool. I have been collecting Temple photos and this has to be included.

Michelle, these are breathtaking — well done. The one in front of the reflecting pool is one of the loveliest photographs of that scene I have ever seen. You are so gifted!

You do have an eye and you captured them so beautifully. I love how none are stoic and contrived but just loving and happy.

Great job dear….weddings are….how I can describe it best…Hell? Yeah, I think that’s about it. But do you know what is sick and twisted? I love shooting them. And you’re right, the BW are STUNNING.

Michelle, as the Mother of the Bride, following you around like a little puppy dog, lapping up everything you did, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for these incredible results. I truly love you ALMOST as much as my Chelle does. Now I can see why she is consistently singing your praises. And, PS, even though I wasn’t much help, I LOVED spending those days with you.
