make cupcakes instead.
just a wee bit of power struggle over who fills the pans
In general, I don’t encourage lemonade stands. I don’t want anyone to feel obligated to buy warm, watery potions from my children, and I patently refuse to let them participate in any school or sports fundraisers (but I don’t mind if your kids knock on my door; I promise).
But cupcakes? Goodness, offering these sweeties up is practically a service project. And the happy bonus? It kept them busy from nine to six while I plowed through back-to-school preparations– masses of forms, appointments at all four schools and shopping lists.
Which would you like? Double fudge or orange chocolate chip?
Ah, Summer, please don’t go. We need more cupcake days.

Now that is a hard pick–they both look delicious! What a cute idea.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t have my kids participate in fundraisers. I don’t mind for a second if people come to my door, but from the very first day of school, with our very first child, it was just our rule. The kids don’t even give it a second thought any more.

My guess is that Xander and Mary weren’t piping that ganache… It looks gorgeous!
Natasha
One of each, please! What a great idea- you can’t go wrong with cupcakes.

Double fudge all the way! Those kids of yours are so darling. Ran past your house this morning at 6:30 AM – could have used a cupcake then!!
