Since Xander’s speaking Mandarin up in Canada these days, it seems fitting his 20th birthday landed on Chinese New Year. I think the dragon and red lanterns add to the Valentine decor. We ate Chinese food and reminisced, but I’m ashamed to admit we didn’t light any fireworks or play with dry ice. I think we’re just weary of missing Xander. He’s been gone so so long. We need him back home with us to breathe a little life back into our traditions.
