Near the end of our photoshoot, Angie paused to calm her newborn babe and turned on one of her family videos for Mary and I to watch.
Scene after scene of her family laughing and playing together flashed on the screen, but music had replaced the words and conversation.
“Do you film with the sound off?” I asked.
“Oh always,” Angie replies, “everyone is much more at ease when they know their voice isn’t being recorded. We say such silly things, don’t we? But you can see that we love each other.”

i read something once that compared a baby’s hands to curled fern fronds. That last photo reminded me of that description. What a beautiful baby!

Smart idea she has about turning off the sound. I’m going to try that at our beach reunion in July.

I turn off the sound and later I can edit them to add music; it makes a very fun video and it is getting easier for anyone to do. I think even Windows Moviemaker (free) can do it. Watching our annual video is the highlight of our year.
